The situation that is being studied in the Mingoa-Yaoundé watershed concerning its water pollution is a problem that is common for a lot of disadvantaged countries. The demographic pressure in the cities aggravates and generalizes this problem.
This study implements a simple scientific approach with effective and cheap means, well adapted to the local context. The author studies and reveals in a clear and quantitative way the different parameters that should be taken into account and the causes of the pollution, which are mainly bacteriological.
Based on this procedure, the work leads to general recommendations and to a proposal of a procedure to reduce the pollution, based on the definition of zones where the watering places are protected.
The study methods and the solutions put forward are very appropriate for the socioeconomic context. This work thus makes a real contribution to solving the problem of improving the quality of the drinking water, which will inevitably have a significant impact on the health of the population.
